Position Overview:
The Director of SEO will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive SEO strategy across our portfolio of consumer-facing websites, including Property Reach, PeopleFinders, FindANeighborhood, LeadSherpa, and our Advertising Network. We’re seeking a proactive and results-driven leader with a strong sense of accountability and a proven ability to deliver measurable outcomes.
Salary: $140k - $160k
This role demands exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage cross-functional collaboration with a dedicated team of developers and SEO specialists. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in both content optimization and technical SEO, with a solid track record of guiding web development teams through architectural and strategic SEO initiatives.
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Director of SEO will work in close partnership with developers, software engineers, product, designers, content creators, BI, and other stakeholders to drive organic performance and growth across the organization’s digital ecosystem.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and prioritize comprehensive SEO strategies to align with business objectives in a fast-paced, data-driven, multi-brand environment
- Lead the formulation and execution of Generative Search strategies across platforms with a strong understanding of the evolving AI landscape
- Direct cross-functional teams to meet deadlines, achieve milestones, and exceed performance goals
- Produce annual and quarterly SEO forecasts to support planning and growth initiatives
- Present strategic initiatives, progress updates, and performance results to senior leadership
- Guide content development that converts users and link acquisition strategies to drive E-E-A-T and increase organic visibility, targeting multiple personas while differentiating our brands that compete for the same keywords
- Execute tactical components of SEO, including site audits, backlink acquisition, and competitive analysis
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges affecting site performance
- Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering professional development and operational excellence
- Partner with paid media teams to deliver a cohesive omnichannel marketing strategy
- Oversee SEO project roadmap and prioritization to align with short- and long-term business targets
- Apply data-driven analysis to uncover trends, identify issues, and measure SEO effectiveness
- Lead implementation and ensure accuracy of analytics tools, including Google Search Console (GSC), Google Analytics 4 (GA4/360), Ahrefs, SEMrush, and other enterprise SEO platforms
- Research, evaluate, and apply emerging SEO methodologies across multiple high-traffic and high-page-count domains across our network
Qualifications & Skills
- 8+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing direct reports and cross-functional SEO teams
- Exceptional project management expertise, ensuring strategic prioritization and timely delivery across multiple initiatives
- Skilled in articulating plans, timelines, forecasts, and performance insights to senior leadership with clarity and precision
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, adept at juggling concurrent projects in fast-paced environments
- Proven success in driving measurable SEO performance and organic growth on high traffic, high page count, data-driven content portals
- Strong technical SEO capabilities, including proficiency in understanding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they pertain to search optimization
- Experienced in leading web development and content teams to support SEO goals
- Responsible for budget ownership and optimization of SEO toolset investments
- Advanced proficiency with website analytics and industry-standard SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and more
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision, while effectively managing time and resources
- Experience with driving organic traffic in a D2C SaaS subscription model is a plus!
