Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motorsport, and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military and commercial aircraft in production today. TAC also provides composites materials to industrial and recreational applications including mountain bikes, medical prosthetics, and sports equipment.

Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex®, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys. Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, PC/ABS, HDPE, and PP.


Summary of Functions:

The Production Specialist I will coordinate with the production teams to ensures all computer transactions are accurate and completed in a timely manner for Prepreg, Tape and the Mix department.  Additionally, this person will handle all work order related transactions in  D35 including, but not limited to, issuing material to jobs, receiving finished product into inventory, posting labor transactions, and other transactions as needed to support timely and accurate data entry in  D365.  The Production Specialist will also file and scan production-related documents as necessary to ensure that records are stored properly and available for retrieval when needed in the future.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures part quantities and locations are accurate during each phase of the process.
  • Verify raw materials consumed against the actual inventory quantities for each work order.
  • Verify testing material has been logged properly per the configuration requirement.
  • Participate in daily shipping meeting to provide work order paperwork status.
  • Print and organize EHS warning labels for the products. 
  • Picks material to work orders.
  • Create work orders for the production lines
  • Complete inventory transactions and ensures that the correct part numbers, lot numbers and quantities are used and entered in the system.
  • Completes all transactions in the  D365 system.
  • Reviews and organize work order packages.
  • Reviews jobs for discrepancies and works with production supervisors, operators, and Operations Manager to correct as needed.
  • Bridge the gap and build partnership with Manufacturing, Logistic and Quality Assurance to achieve the company's objectives 
  • Performs all duties in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.


Experience and/or Education Requirements:

  • Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent 
  • 3 years of experience working with composites or in a manufacturing envionment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry, formatting, and basic calculations.
  • Experience with data integrity within an ERP system, experience with Microsoft D365 preferred
  • Must be able to organize large amounts of data and paperwork with accuracy
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate cross functionally
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic math skills and ability to convert grams to pounds 
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English
  • Able to work and communicate as a team 
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner 
  • Excellent attendance: ability to work overtime, weekends and off shifts when needed

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Primarily sedentary, however the employee will need to occasionally walk around the manufacturing plant to collaborate cross departmentally
