Job Description

Location: Remote | AZ

About the Role: Join the SS&C CTO R&D team as we push the boundaries of technology across our private cloud and major public cloud providers (AWS, Oracle, Azure, Google Cloud). We are advancing our Generative AI platform and building a secured and governed data platform to support agentic workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) across massive datasets. We are looking for experienced engineers who thrive in testing and hardening production systems and possess deep cloud, database and quality expertise. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, production-grade systems across private and public clouds.
• Drive the maturation of our Generative AI platform, ensuring security, scalability, and governance.
• Build and optimize a robust data platform handling agentic workflows and RAG across massive datasets.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Salt to manage cloud environments.
• Develop and optimize applications in Golang, Python, and Bash for distributed systems.
• Architect and manage large-scale systems using Kubernetes, Kafka, and Postgres with Apache Iceberg on S3.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet stringent performance, security, and compliance standards.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure system reliability and resilience in production environments.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of building and maintaining production-grade systems.
• Expertise in at least one core language even if it is not Golang or Python (i.e. Java).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Oracle, Azure, Google Cloud) and private cloud infrastructure.
• Background in Kubernetes, Kafka, and PostgreSQL, including managing and tuning large-scale deployments.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform. 
• Experience with modern data platforms, including Apache Iceberg and S3 object storage.
• Skilled in designing secure, scalable, and governed systems for AI and data-intensive workflows.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex, distributed systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with agentic workflows and AI-driven automation.
• Knowledge of advanced security practices and compliance standards in regulated industries.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in technical communities.
