What you will do

Supporting Silent-Aire/Johnson Controls' Data Center Solutions business group, you will play a critical role in enhancing our engineering operations. This position focuses on developing, analyzing, and managing the development of engineering applications, including AI and data analysis. You will work closely with various teams to identify and fill gaps in our data, driving innovation and ensuring the success of our engineering processes.

How you will do it

Application Development and Management

  • Develop, analyze, and manage the development of engineering applications, ensuring they meet business needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify opportunities for engineering app development, focusing on AI and data analysis.

  • Plan, oversee, and manage the development of engineering applications.

  • Collaborate with the JCI Enterprise AI team and other stakeholders to integrate AI outputs into engineering applications.

Data Analysis and Process Improvement

  • Work closely with the Engineering Process Manager, Engineering Data Manager, Engineering Software Manager, and other teams and departments to identify and fill gaps in our data and uncover unique insights.

  • Provide high-level guidance on the APEGA Professional Practice Management Plan, Authorization Procedure, and Intertek/UL standards.

  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

  • Evaluate existing processes and perform root cause analysis to provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Guide, lead, oversee, and review primarily engineering processes.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of tools and reports for creating, analyzing, and reporting Engineering Department KPIs using Power Apps, Power BI, or other tools.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Serve as a key participant in process development and app development, providing guidance and support to engineering teams.

  • Report periodically to senior management and the Engineering Process Manager on process improvements, app development progress, and data analysis findings.

  • Guide, oversee, and inform training and best practices across teams regarding data architecture design and solution implementation.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering process development, compliance, and app development within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards, including APEGA Professional Practice Management Plan and Intertek UL Standards.

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training materials and sessions.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in AI and data analysis integration into engineering applications.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Certifications in relevant areas such as TOC (Theory of Constraints) and Lean.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies and tools.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.

  • Experience with AI platforms and data analysis tools.
