Everyone carries an ARM CPU in their pocket. Why exactly an ARM CPU? They say because they are very power efficient. Interested to find out if this is true? If so, you've come to the right place!For the Radar System / Hardware department we are looking for a student for a bachelor or master thesis on the topic “Comparison of power efficiency of an x86_64 architecture vs aarch64 architecture based on a real radar application” as soon as possible.
The goal is to port an existing application from an Intel CPU to an ARM CPU and perform comparative performance analysis. During the activity you will get to know the agile working methods at HENSOLDT and gain insight into hardware / FPGA and software development. At the same time, experienced engineers will be on hand to provide you with advice and support.
Your Tasks
Use of a combination of hardware / FPGA / software and system capabilities to develop a solution
Compiling and porting the application Troubleshooting
Installation and configuration of operating systems
Use and / or development of profiling tools to extract performance data from the radar processor.
Interpretation of the data
Presentation of the results
Your Profile
Enrolled student in the field of computer science
Experience with Linux (RedHat)
Programming languages: C or C++, make, cmake
