The Pursuit Manager works closely with firm leadership – Regional Managers, Office Managers, Regional Director of Marketing and Business Development, and the Marketing and Business Development team to orchestrate effective pursuit positioning and strategy. The Pursuit Manager is a dedicated resource from lead to capture – leading pursuits from opportunity pursuit through award. They play a pivotal role in developing pursuit capture strategies and coordinating and leading proposal and interview activities.

 

Your impact:

  • Works with marketing and operations to develop and implement positioning action plans and documents due diligence; facilitates competitor analysis; writes executive summaries; develops win themes and strategies; conducts go/nogo and strategy review sessions; identifies project teams.

  • Acts as an influential voice in the development of messaging, win themes, strategies, and tactics to position for and pursue projects.

  • Independently plans for, facilitates, and documents pursuit strategy meetings. Develops strategies and differentiators to position the team ahead of pursuit release.

  • Plans, facilitates, and documents interview strategy meetings. Develops and executes interview strategy plans, develops slide decks, and coaches teams through mock presentation and Q&A sessions. Leads the interview preparation process and coaches interview teams.

  • Acts as a dedicated resource from lead to capture – oversees pursuits from opportunity pursuit through award.

  • Plans, organizes, and directs all elements of proposal preparation including managing teams to develop proposals, refining win themes, conducting reviews, and ensuring compliance.

  • Supervises, coordinates, writes, edits, and research proposal sections; ensures compliance and proactively identify any issues.

  • Provides support on business development assignments including research, strategies, communication tactics, client outreach, etc. including support in client, competitor, and market research.

  • Supports and / or conducts internal marketing or business development related workshops or trainings.

  • Serves as mentor and coach to proposal staff.

  • Tracks and updates opportunities in Deltek Vision CRM system, including pursuit-related updates / action items.

  • Enters/uploads client follow-up correspondence in Deltek Vision CRM system. Supporting client / project managers through tracking and management of information related to pursuits.

  • Supporting business clients in East & Central time zones.

 

Who you are:

  •  8+ years of experience leading pursuit teams

  • Holds in-depth knowledge and understanding of the AEC industry and associated markets and service lines

  • Preferred candidate holds professional certification (i.e. CPSM, PMP, CP APMP)

  • Self-starter with flexible communication skills both written and orally

  • Adobe InDesign document layout and graphics and Microsoft PowerPoint composition and graphics; experience with CRM systems (Deltek Vision preferred).

Work Environment
