Gesponsert von ExponentAs part of the The New School for Social Research (NSSR) and Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts (Lang) Communications and Events Hub, the Associate Director of Communications and Events will support academic communications, student engagement, and events programming. The Associate Director will play a key role in marketing NSSR and Lang, working directly with both schools and all programs to support strategic communications. This position reports to the Director of Communication and Events, NSSR and has a dotted line to the Director of Student Programs & Special Projects, Lang and works closely and collaboratively with both NSSR and Lang leadership, staff, faculty, Budget and Administration, Academic Planning, and Student Affairs teams, as well as the central offices within The New School, including the Office of Marketing and Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and implements strategies for communications and community-building and engagement for NSSR and Lang programs, centers, and initiatives.
Oversees content strategy and production for communications and engagement channels, including email marketing; program blogs, newsletters, and microsites; and social media for NSSR and Lang.
Works collaboratively with NSSR and Lang leadership, staff, program administrators, and external partners on public programs, academic events, and orientation and commencement ceremonies; helps plan and execute special Executive Dean’s Office events.
Plans, executes, and promotes events and digital experiences designed to recruit, retain and engage students in schools and programs.
Analyzes data and produces reports to evaluate the effectiveness of NSSR and Lang communication plans; recommends and implements improvements.
Serves as a liaison between NSSR and Lang and the Office of Marketing and Communications on communications, community-building, and marketing-related efforts, including, but not limited to, the University website, admission materials, and marketing plans.
Serves as lead contact for NSSR website strategy and implementation; writes, updates, and approves content for NSSR and Lang College websites via CMS and faculty bio updates via Faculty Bio Manager.
Supports the creation and tracking of budgets, assessments, and reports as it relates to communications and events at NSSR and Lang.
Hire, train, and supervise student workers.
The Associate Director has dotted line supervision of the Manager of Communications and Events who reports directly to the Director of Student Programs & Special Projects, Lang.
Supports the Director of Communications and Events, NSSR, and the Director of Student Programs and Special Projects, Lang through other tasks, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree with related experience.
At least two to three years of strategic communications and events experience, preferably in a fast-paced academic environment.
Excellent computing skills including the Microsoft Office Suite, Content Management Systems, Google Apps, the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and analytics dashboards including Google Analytics and social media analytics.
Experience with online promotional and social media platforms, including MailChimp, Wordpress, and Splash.
Excellent organization and oral and written communication skills.
Must have the flexibility to work in person at nighttime and weekend events as well manage projects independently or in a team environment, to take initiative, identify potential issues, and recommend appropriate alternatives.
High level of professionalism and discretion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to analyze and use data to improve communications and engagement and support decision making.
Experience coordinating complex events in an urban environment, preferably, New York City, as well as virtual experiences.
Evidence of managing complex and successful events, ideally in a not-for-profit context.
Experience in a higher education environment.
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. #LI-HYBRID
