Starting Salary
Step I: $44,232 ($21.27/hr.) – $51,309 ($23.39/hr.) Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III.

About the Position
The Data Technician is responsible for processing charitable donations from individuals and organizations. They also perform maintenance on donor records (such as contact and affiliation updates) to ensure accuracy of information and integrity of the foundation’s donor database.
What You’ll Be Doing
GIFT PROCESSING
- Process daily gift/pledge/payment entries into CRM database
Consult with colleagues to obtain gift backup and related information to ensure donor intent is understood and honored
Maintain tribute gift records and link related donors to be notified
Review, proof, and error check gift batches for accuracy
- Perform gift adjustments, pledge write offs, etc.
Run month-end queries and other error check devices before month end close
- Maintain working understanding of moderately complex gift entry procedures relating to grants, gifts in kind, contributed services, third party payments, escalating to Lead Data Technician and Gift Administration Director as needed.
Perform gift receipting processes, including production, mailing and re-printing upon request
Work with colleagues and donors to resolve receipting errors
- Prepare and mail pledge reminders on monthly basis
RECORD MANAGEMENT
Establish and update donor records based on new information
Ensure data integrity of donor record updates
Perform error checks and partner with BI on data integrity clean-up projects
- Perform and fix duplicate record merges
Establish new funds and endowed fund records in CRM, working with finance to inactive, close, update or clarify fund purposes as required
- Manage appeal code process, responding to departmental requests and assigning appeal codes to projects, websites and mailings
SPECIAL PROJECTS
- Respond to donor, Foundation and University department gift information needs as required
Who You Are
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams
Experience with relational database management systems
Ability to critically evaluate information and adhere to business rules
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally, diplomatically and productively with colleagues and contacts at all levels
Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to do repetitious work and maintain high levels of accuracy
Flexibility to adjust to a changing workload based on situation and time of year
You should have
2+ years’ data entry and maintenance experience, preferably in a higher education or non-profit environment
3+ years’ database and/or spreadsheet experience preferred

Pay
