Job Summary
The Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will serve as a strategic partner to Cano Health’s Chief Financial Officer, executive leadership, and key stakeholders. This role will drive financial and operational analysis, oversee all budgeting and forecasting activities, and enhance the financial decision-making process at a corporate level. The Senior Director of FP&A will also lead the transformation and scalability of FP&A processes to support Cano Health’s growth and operational efficiencies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and direct all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and performance analysis.
- Develop and drive strategic initiatives to improve financial visibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of financial models and analytics, particularly for health plan revenue, claims analysis, and administrative expenses.
- Own the monthly close process, including claims triangulation and IBNR analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on complex financial reports and statistical analysis to executive leadership and investors.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with corporate strategy.
- Define and maintain the annual/monthly FP&A calendar with key deliverables and ensure adherence.
- Manage and develop the FP&A team, fostering a high-performance culture through hiring, training, coaching, and career development initiatives.
- Review and refine executive-level financial presentations, including reports for the Board of Directors and Senior Management.
- Lead financial data analysis and ensure insights are communicated effectively across the organization.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education, industry engagement, and networking.
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data.

- Mentor and guide FP&A team members to develop their technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

- Strengthen relationships with key internal and external partners to align financial strategy with business objectives.
- Optimize financial reporting systems and automate processes for improved efficiency.
- Drive continuous process improvements using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Finance.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and corporate development efforts.
- Champion financial literacy across the organization, ensuring key stakeholders understand financial performance metrics and their impact.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 12+ years of FP&A experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep experience in healthcare finance, particularly in primary/specialty care and value-based care models.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data analytics tools.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to drive strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting to C-suite executives and Board members.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in decision-making.

Physical Requirements
This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
