Identifies, selects, and manages global supplier relationships for assigned categories to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required. May ensure all engineering, customer, security and EHS requirements are met. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned categories.
Executes sourcing vision and strategy for assigned categories, including BVC objectives and developing team synergy. Collaborates with other internal functions to ensure that we meet customer requirements. Monitors supplier relationships to ensure strategic alignment and sustainability. Ensure standardized processes are followed as required.
Responsible for driving material cost downs, supplier terms improvement, Best Value Country (BVC) sourcing, NPD (new product development) launch support, category strategies and annual operations planning for a select group of categories. Manages global supplier relationships to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required.
Reviews RFQ packages and spreadsheet analysis to make recommendations for improvement. Identifies potential suppliers and makes recommendations on supplier selections based on total cost analysis and quality compliance. Performs supplier negotiations and determines the most competitive total cost solutions using creativity and latitude.
Defines, drives and implements continuous improvement projects to ensure objectives are met. Leads simplification in the overall Supply Chain process. Provides expertise to the internal team as well as other internal functions.
Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for Sourcing Strategy of direct materials ranging from switches, terminals, capacitors, EMS suppliers (PCBA’s), and cord sets to name a few; and collaborating with the mechanical part of the Sourcing team for various projects
• Manage & coordinate all sourcing activities together with key stakeholders, having a satisfying performance on quality, delivery, cost performance and sustainability improvements
• Meet business objectives, including significant material cost downs, payment terms improvement and Best Value Country vs localization sourcing objectives, make vs buy analysis.
• Negotiate with suppliers to get the best conditions and find new alternatives of suppliers or materials to support the business in relation to business cycles, customer needs, new products and changing market demands aligned with stakeholders securing production.
• Manage all supplier relationships within assigned categories, including globally with BVC suppliers
• Supplier Negotiations and contracting with Legal team support (local and international)
• Manage individual categories/categories with local plant support. Performs supplier negotiations and determines the most competitive total cost solutions.
• Support Power Efficiency Solutions’ Director of Supply Chain and Sourcing Managers, where appropriate/necessary, for career growth
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience. 7-10+ years.
• Master’s Degree a distinct positive
• Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma or APIC Certification a distinct positive
• Proven Negotiation skills
• Proven track record obtaining Material Cost Out (MCO) savings
• Background and track record of successful Best Value Country (BVC) sourcing
• Ability to build relationships, both externally and internally, to deliver successful team objectives
• Ability to think and act strategically in support of business and team objectives
• Reviews staff work and provides constructive feedback
• May mentor, lead and supervise personnel (generally 1 junior professional or AT)
Travel:
• As necessary (estimated at 20%+/-)
Language:
• Bilingual a distinct large plus (Spanish/English)
• Chinese an another plus but not mandatory
