About the Office for Space Technology & Industry
The Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn) is Singapore’s national space office. To build up Singapore’s space ecosystem and advance Singapore’s space interests, OSTIn seeks to:
- Nurture the build-up of local space technology capabilities through investments in R&D;
- Grow a globally competitive local space industry;
- Develop policies and regulations to support Singapore’s space activities;
- Expand bilateral and multilateral partnerships, and contribute to strengthening the international governance regime for space activities; and
- Support the development of talent for Singapore’s space sector and future workforce.
[What you will be working on]
In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Build a sound understanding of the global space ecosystem in order to proactively identify trends, growth themes and industry segments that could provide growth opportunities for Singapore’s space industry;
Develop and implement strategic engagement plans for promising space companies, both local and foreign, to secure their interest to set-up and expand their space activities in Singapore. For local companies, to also enable them to be globally leading in their chosen focus areas through connecting them to business opportunities or through capability development projects;
Develop Singapore’s strategy for the next bound of growth in the space sector within existing or emerging opportunity areas (e.g. satellite communications, sustainability, in-space economy, etc)
Develop the approach for Singapore’s role as a thought-leader and conveyor for the global space industry – including charting plans for Singapore Space Week 2026 and related activities;
Cultivate strategic relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders in the government, research, and industry ecosystem to leverage existing or develop new value propositions to enhance Singapore’s ability to attract/secure priority activities and companies.
[What we are looking for]
To meet the challenges of this role, you must have:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in strategy, research, industry development or relevant industry role (e.g. space, aerospace, satellite communications, etc)
A strong interest and passion in space technologies and their impact
Strong business acumen
Creative, problem-solving skills and be energised by driving towards win-win outcomes
Confident in public speaking and able to facilitate discussions with stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken, and experience working with diverse stakeholders
Self-motivated with a positive attitude, have excellent work ethic and a team player
Background in STEM is advantageous
