The Transplant Diagnostics division (TDX) of Thermo Fisher Scientific, formerly known as One Lambda, is the worldwide leader in manufacturing HLA typing and antibody detection assays and is known for its focus on quality, service and innovation.
Position Summary:
The Sr. Technical Training Specialist, NGS is the product SME and offers an outstanding opportunity for the creation of innovative technical content, layout and setup for technical trainings delivered to our customers, Channel Partners, and employees virtually or in-person. The incumbent will facilitate collaboration with numerous functional teams to integrate self-paced eLearning and Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality into our current training strategies. This individual will develop a deep understanding of all OLI NGS products to support the Commercial and Technical Support activities for achieving annual revenue targets, including travel to customer sites if requested.
The successful candidate will collaborate with business colleagues including managers from Technical Support, Software Development, Reagent R&D, Field Applications Scientists, Product Management, and Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver content for technical training programs focusing on the NGS product portfolio.
Build proficiency models and certification programs to ensure outstanding product knowledge.
Adapt to technological advancements; work both independently and collaboratively, maintaining harmonious relationships with all Thermo Fisher functions.
Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to ensure course content accuracy and relevance, aligning with required workflows and product specifications.
Become a subject matter authority on all NGS products, providing technical input on workflow and data analysis.
Contribute to NPI for the NGS product portfolio, representing Service and Support in core teams.
Facilitate the development of online training materials, including interactive self-paced eLearning courses, videos, and virtual/remote live programs.
Ensure all training modules are updated continuously to reflect new product releases and key differentiators.
Align technical training with broader business initiatives.
Uphold laboratory protocols for quality assurance, ensuring accurate and safe procedures.
Understand business practices and policies related to Sales activities.
Maintain a professional corporate image and confidentiality of business information.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biological or Chemical Sciences with experience (preferably 5-10 years) in an HLA Laboratory or related industry.
Clinical knowledge of Thermo Fisher products and the HLA field.
Public speaking experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content creation tools like Movavi, BioRender, and LMS such as Brainshark and Docebo.
Ability to answer technical questions, troubleshoot issues, and meet annual goals.
Strong communication, both oral and written, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
This position involves daily computer use and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Global travel up to 30% may be required.
