The Summer internship program within Research and Development at BD provides students with an opportunity to work on engineering projects and gain experience in the medical device industry.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at BD, you will Join a dynamic Hardware Engineering team (Electrical/Mechanical). During this internship you will collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues from Sr level engineers to fellow interns from multiple groups on projects in R&D. The focus will be in implementation of new technologies, CAD/ECAD design and support, prototyping and bring up for new products as well as feasibility and performance simulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

• Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering or relative technical degree such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

• Familiar with basics in SolidWorks (CAD design).

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

• Willing to work onsite 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GPA of 3.0+

• Familiarity with Validation and test

• Experience in Technical Writing (Reports, test protocols)

• MS/PhD

• Prior internship/co-op experience
