How You Will Contribute:
As a Specialist Sales Engineer, you will work performing network data collection, mapping, analysis and visualization for our Global Content Network (GCNs) customers, as a key contributing member of Ciena’s Global Sales Engineering Support Center (GSES). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales Engineering Operations, you will perform pre-sales-oriented data analytics tasks, with a focus on the actualization of optical network designs to help accelerate the GCN business. You will support GCN customer projects, partnering with and supporting different GCN Global Sales Engineering teams to develop high value Ciena optical and networking proposals that accurately address specific customer technical needs. You’ll also perform customer presentations and demonstrations to articulate use-cases, and you might also contribute with solution designs and validations, technical consultancy, and RFX support with the objective of fostering the sales cycle.

The Must Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic / Telecommunications engineering / Computer Science.
5+ years of experience in Telecommunications industry performing an engineering role.
Mid to strong optical knowledge: fiber optics transmission systems such as Photonic / DWDM Systems and architectures, OTN Switching and Coherent Transmission.
Optical network planning and management tools background.
Proficiency in Data Analysis, with the ability to derive actionable insights from various and complex datasets.
Microsoft PowerBI and Excel proficiency.
The candidate must reside within the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).
Advanced oral and written English level.
Deadline driven and willing to work outside normal hours to complete tasks.
Must also have strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Assets:
Project Management skills and/or experience – PMI is a plus.
Knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
Coding skills (Python preferred).
Familiar with REST API and Snowflake repositories.
