Senior Technical Service Technologist - Savoury, Meat & Meat Alternatives

Core Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead technical contact for assigned customers and key accounts, provide comprehensive technical expertise throughout the customers innovation process to meet the business growth targets.
- Conducts application trials involving formulation and process development or fine tuning, in the presence of customers or at the customer's site. Works pro-actively on own ideas and utilises customer feedback to develop innovative food solutions.
- Utilize all resources to evaluate customers recipe, ingredients and processes to diagnose problems and apply food technology knowledge and give recommendations on the best solution.
- Organize visits to customers and/or visits from customers to the Ingredion Idea Labs (planning trials, meetings, and venue). Inquire, listen, and fully understand the needs of customers and work with the business team to quickly deliver innovative solution.
- Develop strong relationships across key stakeholder in the technical and commercial teams and distributors to drive and prioritize projects & activities aligned with the strategy and maximize business return.
- Documents technical work centrally and communicates project results internally as well as externally to customers. Record and share relevant customer activities and project updates in customer relationship management system.
- Evaluation of customer and competitor portfolio, expertises and services to gain insights and share knowledge with the team
- Work with a diverse group of people within an international organization, leverage global resources to address local requirements and actively participate in cross-functional projects teams.
- Analysing and addressing complex technical issues and significantly improve, change or adapt existing techniques
Qualified candidate will have:
- Degree, or equivalent, in Food Technology or Food Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Strong experience in a Technical Service, NPD, or Applications team in specialty food ingredients.
- History of successful projects delivering product innovation and proven track record of technically supporting customers in the food industry
- Expert applied knowledge of interactions of different food ingredients, ingredient systems and food processing. Experience in Savoury, Meat and Meat Alternatives applications is desirable. Experience is likely across more than one category.
- Advanced understanding of equipment and technologies to enable laboratory and pilot plants trials with focus on these application areas.
- Excellent analytical, monitoring, and communication skills
- Fluent in English and geman (verbal & writing)
- Works on own intiative/autonomy to deliver Technical Activity
- Ability to travel within the region up to 40% of the working time.
