Position Summary:

Oversees all Kitting activities with respect to production while maintaining a high standard of customer service under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Lead and manage the kitting area to provide 100% order accuracy to our customers.
  • Plans and coordinates work activities of the kitting operation based on partnership and communication with the planning and engineering teams.
  • Develops and implements specific objectives and performance measures for the kitting area.
  • Direct and monitor the implementation and maintenance of all safety programs for the kitting operation.
  • Develop the processes to improve the quality of product shipped while reducing the number of kitting discrepancies and/or shipping errors.
  • Implements company policies and procedures according to company guidelines for the kitting area.
  • Assess manpower requirements necessary to maintain established service levels.
  • Maintain communication with appropriate personnel regarding deliveries, delays, problems, etc.
  • Monitor the kitting area for clean housekeeping.
  • Supervise the daily work flow in the kitting area.
  • Analyze kitting operational functions and seek methods that offer continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage returns processing for wet manufacturing
  • Maintain lot control for items in consumer product lines
  • Repackage and claim returns for special promotions
  • Manage materials planning for the kitting process
  • Assess and organize the kitting data supplied by our customers in various formats, into standardized spreadsheet
  • Look for commonalities – build kit versions (groups) to simplify kitting process
  • Prepare kitting lists
  • Provide on-going training for new and existing Associates on various department tasks, procedures and systems.
  • Responsible for scheduling and allocating parts for all on-site kitting department orders with accuracy, efficiency and ensure kits are ready to ship by the customer due date.
  • Communicate any part shortages that affect the ability of the kitting department to meet customer expected ship date.
  • Responsible for quality and final inspection including proper labeling and documentation for all kit orders.
  • Responsible for proper filing of documents on orders pulled.
  • Maintain supplies needed to support kitting department.
  • Set hourly production expectations and standards for kitting team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

       

      Education

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required

       

      Knowledge/Experience

      • 2 + years supervisory / management experience preferable warehouse operations
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
      • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including but not limited to performance management (annual performance reviews, employee evaluations, discipline, corrective action, coaching, etc.)
      • Excellent written or oral communication skills are essential
      • Strong planning, organization and customer relations skills are required.
      • AS400 experience with PRMS preferred or similar ERP

      •  Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
      • Computer experience with Microsoft Office

       

      Abilities

      • Excellent oral and written communication skills

          The pay range for this position of Assistant Kitting Manager is $70,613- $105,920. However, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus as part of total compensation.
