About the Department

Purpose of Position:     To work with museum exhibits and collections and to provide public access to campus museums.

Position Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:   Work with and organize existing museum exhibits and collections; create new exhibits; organize and attend museum events, meetings, and lectures; provide public access to visitors and lead tours; assist with clerical duties of campus museums; maintain regular open hours for campus museums; other duties as assigned such as Public History Lab clean up and coordinating public history and museum work with community partners.


Minimum Qualifications

Job Qualifications:      Public History & Museum Studies minor or History major preferred. Must be able to attend scheduled lectures and meetings as assigned. Must show an interest in museum exhibits and a pleasant attitude toward greeting museum guests. Punctuality and dependability is critical. Must be able to work independently. Available hours may be adjusted as needed for changes in exhibit schedules.

Wage Rate $10.30

Weekly Hours Available:  10

Start Date:  Immediately

Advancement Opportunity/Evaluation Period:  This position qualifies for the Career Pathing Program, which includes an annual wage increase ($.25/hour), an opportunity for personal and professional development, and an annual performance evaluation.
