About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. You will be hired to help design, and maintain reliable systems at scale in the cloud. Our infrastructure runs on AWS and other cloud platforms. We currently utilize RDS, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, and AWS IoT, to name a few. Prior experience in AWS and with Terraform is required and a focus on scripting and automation is preferred. Our infrastructure is containerized with Docker and we’re running in Kubernetes. We’re using ArgoCD and Jenkins for CI/CD.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure
• Build foundational infrastructure for other teams to deploy and run their applications
• Look for ways to reduce toil through scripting and automation
• Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity
• Help to define and improve our standards for maintainability and best practices
• Participate in 24/7 on-call shift schedule for infrastructure support

Experience

• 2+ years advanced operational knowledge of AWS infrastructure i.e. Azure, GCP nice to have
• 2+ years experience effective scripting abilities (e.g. bash, Python, Golang)
• Strong desire to automate and create standard frameworks
• 2+ years experience Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• 1+ years Kubernetes and containerization best practices (EKS)
• 2+ years Experience with monitoring and observability of applications (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Datadog)
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
• Emphasis on documentation and knowledge sharing

This is an exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated base salary for this role is between $118,631 and $162,800. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salaries across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
