As LPN at the Cleveland Clinic Family Physicians Lyndhurst location, you will assist with ensuring patients receive the best care possible while being seen and treated. In this position, you can make a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of your patients and their families. You can also make use of the numerous educational and professional development courses offered by Cleveland Clinic to enhance your nursing skills.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM and 8:30AM - 5:00PM. Hours may vary based on clinic needs.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide patient care activities under the direction of an RN, Physician, Optometrist and/or Podiatrist. 
• Collect and document objective/subjective data and observations about patients.  
• Complete nursing assessments and report all data.  
• Implement the current nursing care plan, medication or treatment and communicate patients’ responses.  
• Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.  
• Perform routine laboratory tests.  
• Educate patients and family members.  
• Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees, share knowledge and provide guidance when assigned. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing 
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) 
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• One year of patient care experience

Physical Requirements:

• Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
• Extensive standing walking and occasional lifting
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
• Working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
• Some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
