Process Piping Technician II

Process Piping Technician II

• The Process Piping Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting semiconductor process piping systems while ensuring cleanroom standards and safety protocols are met. The role involves supervising teams, conducting inspections, managing schedules, and collaborating on design optimizations.

Responsibilities:

• Independently install and maintain semiconductor process piping systems, ensuring proper routing, secure connections, and adherence to cleanroom contamination protocols.
• Perform tasks such as cutting, threading, and joining pipes using welding, brazing, and compression techniques.
• Coordinate solutions to material shortages including special connectors.
• Conduct leak testing, pressure testing, and inspections to ensure the functionality and safety of piping systems independently.
• Monitor the quality of installations, ensuring all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during tool installation, including utility alignment, leak detection, and performance verification.
• Plan and schedule daily activities for the team, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to project timelines.
• Collaborate with other trades, project managers, and engineers to address design changes, technical challenges, and workflow optimizations.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering skill development and safety awareness.
• Other related job duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education:
• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 6 years of experience in process piping installation
• OSHA 30 certification

• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of process piping systems, including gas, chemical, plastic, UPW line installation and pressure testing.
• Ability to lead and supervise a team for process piping installation and troubleshooting.
• Risk assessment and mitigation for high-pressure or hazardous material handling.
• Conducting inspections to ensure compliance with semiconductor piping standards.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise in integrating manufacturing tools with facility utilities.

• Experience in leading a crew preferred
• Physical Requirements:
• The ability to lift equipment and tools, sometimes up to 35 pounds or even more (with assistance for heavier items, working on ladders/lifts, working in tight spaces.
• Standing or walking for significant portions of the workday.

• • Frequent grasping, manipulation, and occasional twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, or reaching.

• Training:
• Ability to travel to overseas for training for extended periods (length depends on business needs).

Shift expectations:

• TSMC Arizona operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires candidate to have ability and willingness to work any shift (day or night) in a compressed work week schedule once training is done. The compressed work week shift structure is Work 4 days on, 3 days off for one week and 3 days on, 4 days off the next week.  Each shift is 12 hours,  from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am.

• Scheduled night shifts and weekend on-call rotations in a 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Night shift rotations are expected to be no more than 4 months per calendar year.
• Standard work hours: Monday through Friday
