Job Overview:

As an Analyst of Pence’s Research team, you will support our advisors and internal partners, via phone and email with questions regarding everything our Research team manages. This includes product insights, model construction, market commentary, current economic highlights, platform support, and marketing pieces.  You will be responsible for training, inspiring, and engaging your team members in a manner consistent with LPL Financial’s values.

Research team provides market, investment, and portfolio advice to our advisors. Our mission is to be a trusted partner to our advisors who provide our clients with choices to help meet their financial goals. In this endeavor, our sole motivation is to provide stellar due diligence and investment management advice as a partner for our advisors who want to leverage our experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement efficient ways of collecting data from various sources

  • Review and analyze collected data to provide actionable insights to the management team

  • Develop and maintain databases, data systems, and data visualization tools

  • Collaborate with different teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization

  • Design and implement data-driven strategies to support business objectives

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of initiatives

  • Handling sensitive data and details in line with established protocols

  • It is essential that the candidate demonstrates a high degree of ownership in the quality of their work and has an exceptionally professional demeanor

  • Partnering with leadership in the Research organization to assist with different initiatives that will help develop talent

  • Openness to new ways of thinking and acquiring new skills to retain a competitive advantage

  • Lead from the front and embody the firm’s mission and values – and understand how to educate and reinforce

This role will operate on an in-office schedule (5 days/week in office).

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree (BA/BS) with a major in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or applied science

  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent, at an accredited 4-year college or university

  • 2+ years of relevant internship/professional work experience required

  • Proficient in Excel; comfortable with VBA, Pover Pivot; familiar with other coding languages a plus (Python, SQL, C++, etc.)

  • Securities trading license (FINRA Series 7/66) preferred or ability to get licensed within first 6 months

  • Basic experience with the investment advisory business

  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, and possess strong time management skills

  • Strong analytical and technical skills are essential

  • High competency in mathematics and financial spreadsheets

  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)

Desired candidates should possess the following characteristics:

  • Interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and investment finance

  • Strong analytical skill set

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to relay complex ideas clearly

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Desire to join a high performance, fast-paced culture

  • Results-orientation, attention to detail and strong time management skills

  • Ability to cogently explain and discuss financial information to different audiences


 

Pay Range:

$25.38-$42.31/hour


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
