Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, forestry machinery operators operate various types of forestry equipment such as Saw head, multifonctional, transporter, articulated truck, skid steer loader and sand loader. They perform different tasks including felling, processing, skidding, and transporting wood using these machines. They also carry out maintenance and minor repairs to ensure the equipment remains in good working condition and to maintain safety standards.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Operate forestry machinery in accordance with safety regulations
• Fell, process, skid, and transport wood
• Perform regular maintenance on their truck 
• Detect breakdowns and leaks   
• Repair minor breakdowns             
• Clean the machinery

• Mechanical knowledge
• Good knowledge of French

Education

• Certificate of Specialization in Forestry Machinery Operation with one year of significant experience
  or 
• Four years of significant experience (high school diploma is an asset)
  
  

Work Environment

• Work in forest environments
