About the job

SUMMARY
The Associate Lab Technician is responsible for preparing test setups according to engineering standards and requests. The role involves assisting the lab manager and team in maintaining safety and 5S compliance in lab and engineering areas, as well as providing input to reduce non-value-added work (NVAW) and enhance lab efficiency.

Your tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
•Setup and prepares units for testing.
•Document test procedure and results for each unit and provide testing data to engineering.
•Assist with performance testing for UL, NSF and other regulatory agencies.
•Provide technical support & guidance to manufacturing in support of pre-production & production runs.
•Interacts with manufacturing to resolve quality and certification compliance issues.
•Operate and maintain equipment and supplies.
•Interacts with the customer to resolve certification and quality issues.
•Periodically travels to customer sites.
•Periodically work with outside test laboratories.
•Suggests changes in procedures, standards, to facilitate work and maintain quality.
•Interfaces with purchasing, production/production control, design engineering, and customer service.
•Observes safety and security procedures.
•Other responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•Associate degree and three years related experience preferred; or combination of education and experience.
•Production (manufacturing) experience preferred with strong mechanical processes.
•Familiar with testing equipment, instruments, and related safety procedures as well as
engineering terminology concepts, blueprint interpretation and electrical wiring practices.
•Strong computer, communication, problem solving and team skills.
•Frequently handles minimum 2-3 tasks simultaneously.
