- Strong and referenceable experience in ecommerce related pre-sales solutions engineering, with a focus on enterprise clients
- Strong enterprise-level client communication skills and a proven track record in stakeholder management
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills along with a desire to tackle complex enterprise challenges head-on
- A mindset aligned with experimentation, continuous learning, and teaching, with the ability to support our growing enterprise retail customers, partner agencies, and internal teams
- In-depth understanding of enterprise retail and omnichannel best practices, including the process of migrating large-scale operations from other platforms to Shopify
- Proficiency with web APIs (GraphQL), enterprise retail solutions, order management systems, inventory management systems, middleware development, and front-end development
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to simultaneously support a diverse portfolio of enterprise merchants
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a growth mindset and a high level of adaptability
- Solid understanding of cloud-based technologies, SaaS fundamentals, and their application in enterprise retail environments
- Experience in conducting thorough discovery sessions with enterprise clients to uncover business needs and technical requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the US or Canada for client meetings, industry events, and on-site support
- Experience working with Fortune 500 companies and major retail brands
- Experience with other ecommerce and retail systems, providing valuable insight into migration challenges and opportunities for enterprise clients
- Support our enterprise sales and partner teams through various channels and high-level engagements
- Share your learnings and best practices with the rest of the Enterprise team, constantly improving and iterating to be a trusted advisor on our ever-expanding Shopify platform and ecosystem
- Advise enterprise merchants (including their development partners) on technical solutions to ensure optimum business success on the platform
- Create customized product demos and proofs of concept for use in live or recorded virtual client demonstrations for major retail brands
- Explore creative ways to extend and develop on the platform to meet enterprise-level requirements, and respond to inquiries about our APIs
- Mentor and coach the enterprise sales team on the technical aspects of Shopify
- Act as an advocate and trusted advisor for enterprise merchants at all times, bringing your insights and knowledge to our product teams
- Build bidirectional relationships with various teams within Shopify, including Product teams, Launch, Service Delivery, Sales, Merchant Success, Risk & Legal, and others
- Stay informed about North American retail trends, regulations, and market dynamics that affect our enterprise clients
- Conduct comprehensive discovery sessions with enterprise merchants to uncover their specific business needs, technical requirements, and potential challenges in adopting or optimizing Shopify's platform
- Leverage your understanding of cloud-based technologies and SaaS fundamentals to propose innovative solutions that align with enterprise merchants' business objectives
- Translate complex technical concepts related to cloud infrastructure and SaaS models into clear, actionable insights for both internal teams and enterprise clients
- Travel to client sites, industry events, and other locations as needed to provide in-person support and representation
