The role
The Strategy Associate plays a key role in enabling organizational alignment and strengthening the strategic planning process at Frontiers. This role supports the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of company-wide strategic planning activities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across all levels of the organization. By developing frameworks, facilitating planning cycles, and ensuring transparent, stakeholder-focused communication, the Strategy Associate helps translate strategic vision into actionable plans. The role also contributes to the monitoring and analysis of progress against strategic goals, providing insights and recommendations that drive effective decision-making and sustainable success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication
Develop and implement communication channels to share strategic goals and initiatives across the organization.
Tailor communications to different stakeholders, including executive leadership, department heads, and operational teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Strategic Planning Processes
Support establishment and refinement of processes to support the development, tracking, and review of company-wide and departmental strategies.
Create templates, frameworks, and tools for strategic planning and ensure their consistent use.
Strategic Events
Support planning, coordination, and execution of key strategic and corporate events (such as leadership offsites, strategic reviews and business planning sessions).
Ensure alignment with organizational priorities and seamless delivery.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a liaison between the strategy team and other departments to ensure understanding and alignment on strategic priorities.
Gather feedback, surface challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
Analysis and Recommendations
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate existing strategies and identify areas for improvement.
Provide actionable, data-driven recommendations and present findings clearly to various audiences.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of strategic planning principles and organisational alignment, with experience in cross-departmental collaboration.
Knowledge of scientific publishing industry workflows and metrics.
Familiarity with strategic planning tools such as OKRs, SWOT, or Balanced Scorecards, and knowledge of scientific publishing workflows and metrics.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau), as well as advanced skills in presentation and documentation (e.g., PowerPoint, process mapping).
Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira)
Certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) or data analysis (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) are considered assets
Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability, with the ability to communicate strategic information clearly to varied audiences.
Strong organisational and time management skills to support strategic events and planning cycles.
2–4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in strategy, business operations, management consulting, or a related analytical/project-focused role.
Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, Management, Economics or related fields preferred but not mandatory).
