Zionsville Community Schools is seeking applicants for our Aquatics Assistant Manager position. Required CPR certification and Lifeguard certification.
POSITION SUMMARY: Specific duties will include consistent communication with Aquatics Manager, coordination of daily aquatic administrative functions and provide comprehensive staff support to Zionsville Aquatic Center (ZAC) programs.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as first point of contact with customers/swimmers/families by greeting visitors, answering phones, responding to inquiries and providing pool tours when necessary.
- Supervision, evaluation and coordination of schedules for all staff members working in the Aquatic Center including but not limited to pool managers, lifeguards and swim instructors.
- Coordinate, arrange and maintain status of swim lessons with swim instructors.
- Coordinate and monitor substitutes for groups and private/semi-private swim lessons, while tracking employee absences and notifying Aquatic Director when there is an absence problem.
- Assist Aquatics Manager with the creation and maintenance of Aquatic Center webpage outlining the mission, policies, pricing, hours of operation and programs available to schools and community.
- Monitor class size and enrollment throughout year, including summer programs, with guidance from Aquatic Director.
- Monitor swim lesson procedures and lesson accessory availability.
- Review and monitor staff timesheets in a timely manner and make sure all follow current staffing regulations and are sent to payroll in a timely fashion.
- Administration of online registration system for all Aquatic activities.
- Schedule pool time with other curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs including developmental preschool, elementary and middle schools.
- Maintain Aquatic Center bather load logs and schedule all Aquatic Center activities in district calendar.
- Monitor and create swim passes as purchased by facility patrons.
General Functions:
- Provide assistance with aquatic center events with input from staff.
- Conduct introductory training for new ZAC staff under supervision of the Aquatic Manager.
- Provide support to instructors and lifeguards who need additional resources.
- Assist with staff evaluations through lessons observations.
- Actively engage in swim lessons utilizing ZAC lesson progression.
- Assist with monitoring ZAC programs through observations and feedback.
- Strictly maintains professionalism and confidentiality as indicated in the ZCS Confidentiality Statement.
- Other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Manager.
