The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is looking for a qualified candidate for the role of Day to Day Engineer - Associate role (Sr Engineer) for Pondicherry Location. This role will manage multiple project schedules to ensure timely execution and delivery of product design optimization opportunities.  In this role you will also maintain manufacturing productivity by resolving factory issues associated with product design in alignment with subsystem teams. Identify and capture efficiency opportunities through product design improvements. The role will also support and scope ideas and bring them to execution using the Whirlpool Product Development methodology for minor projects.



Your responsibilities will include

  • Conduct and support idea generation workshops to develop Cost & Quality pipeline

  • Scope ideas in order to understand project feasibility (technical/financial)

  • Understand Service Incident Rate (SIR) information and execute Quality projects

  • Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) information to generate cost ideas

  • Deliver Cost and Quality assigned targets

  • Execute cost and quality projects following the Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) methodology

  • Create Engineering changes & Able to make BOM changes in Windchill / SAP

  • Create FMEA ( Failure Modes and Effect Analysis)

  • Create DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Report)

  • Create work plans/ schedules to complete projects and introduce changes into production

  • Support Change Notices for project execution

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders as part of the project execution ( Suppliers, Procurement, Subsystems, Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality)

  • Ability to utilize analytical skills and proactive self-management to meet and exceed goals
