Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Steer the strategic direction and alignment of AI work and act as a technical decision-maker for AI architecture and implementation.
- Lead the development and deployment of new AI products, workflows applied research prototypes and experiments, contributing both development and technical expertise.
- Drive strong fast technical execution from the AI team, applying best software engineering and AI/ML development practices.
- Establish a collaborative generative AI ecosystem, collaborating closely with the games, marketing, and platform teams to identify opportunities and deliver scalable AI solutions that drive business value.
- Monitor and evaluate generative AI experiments, focusing on generative game creation enablement and the exploration of emerging AI technologies.
- Build organizational capacity for exploration and experimentation with cutting edge applied AI research techniques that enable us to understand what the future of gaming in the age of AI might be.
- Evangelise AI internally through demos, presentations, and knowledge sharing. Mentor developers, creatives and team members on using AI tools and integrating them into their workflows.
- Establish ways of keeping up with the relevant technology, best practices and applied research continuously emerging in the industry.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 10+ years in the industry working with a diverse set of AI/ML products and solutions.
- Deep expertise both in “classic” ML algorithms and with generative AI, including both language and visual domains.
- Proven experience in delivering AI/ML solutions in production, ideally within the gaming industry. Knowledge of free-to-play game mechanics and LiveOps environments is a bonus.
- Experience driving efficient ML development lifecycle, experience outlining and implementing best software engineering practices in teams.
- Experience architecting and building both traditional and modern agentic data-intensive systems (and some of the many everchanging tools enabling fine-tuning, RAG and MCP implementations). Strong understanding of ML Ops practices and software architecture.
- Experience with AI infrastructure and cloud platforms (AWS and GCP).
- Focus on innovation, coupled with a mindset of continuous learning and curiosity to explore emerging AI technologies. The successful candidate will have an agile, hands-on approach to prototyping and validation.
- Understanding of the best practices in modern AI productivity tools for technical and creative development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills necessary for working effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Understanding how to drive results with key business stakeholders.
