JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS: Primary responsibilities will include taking vitals, entering patient data into charts, rooming patients and maintaining work flow. Additional responsibilities include assisting with splint/cast removal and application, brace fitting, suture and staple removal and dressing changes. Patient teaching regarding splints, casts, braces, etc. Maintain AAOS registry and prior authorization of injections. May travel to other locations. Prefer electronic medical records experience. Patient confidentiality is a priority.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. High School graduation or GED preferred
2. One year secretarial experience is preferred
3. Typing ability of 40 wpm. Word processing experience.
4. Must be familiar with CPT and ICD-9CM codes, either through education or experience as demonstrated by past performance.
5. General knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles.
6. Knowledge of medical terminology and the insurance industry.
