- Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-5:00pm
Position Summary:
The Treatment Plan Coordinator serves as a key liaison between patients and the clinical team. This role is responsible for presenting treatment plans, discussing financial options, managing pre-operative administrative steps, and guiding patients through their surgical journey with clarity, confidence, and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with surgeons to review clinical treatment recommendations.
* Present detailed treatment plans and financial estimates to patients, including insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
* Explain surgical procedures, timelines, and post-op instructions in a professional and compassionate manner.
* Coordinate scheduling of surgeries, pre-op appointments, and follow-ups.
* Submit insurance pre-authorizations and manage documentation to support claims.
* Follow up on pending treatment plans and support case acceptance through personalized communication.
* Act as the primary point of contact for patient questions related to treatment, insurance, or financing.
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records using practice management software (Open Dental).
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office protocols.
* Work collaboratively with front office and surgical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications:
* 2+ years of experience in oral surgery, dental, or medical office setting (required).
* Prior experience as a treatment coordinator or financial coordinator is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of dental insurance billing, terminology, and codes.
* Professional, calm, and clear communicator—both verbal and written.
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
* Proficient in practice management software and Microsoft Office suite.
* Compassionate and customer-focused mindset
Preferred Attributes:
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
* Familiarity with CareCredit, Proceed Finance, or similar patient financing platforms.
* Experience with oral surgery cases including dental implant cases.
