Responsibilities
The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne Metro Office is seeking a Full-Time Payroll Specialist who is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to make an impact behind the scenes. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for all association staff while delivering outstanding customer service to employees and leadership.
- Administer all aspects of payroll, including time and attendance, employee deductions, changes, corrections, reporting, and finalizing biweekly payroll.
- Collaborate with branch teams to ensure new hire paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Assist with general ledger reporting and payroll-related accounting functions.
- Maintain compliance and confidentiality in all payroll and personnel matters.
- Provide employment verifications and assist with employee inquiries.
- Support HR with special projects, mailings, and administrative tasks.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of payroll or accounting experience required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Must complete CPR/First Aid/O₂ Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Child Abuse Prevention trainings within 60 days of hire.
Salary: Full time, $17.31-$19.48 hourly
Hours Available: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
