Weiser Memorial Hospital is seeking a flexible and dependable full-time Emergency Department Technician to provide support to our ED team. This position is full-time working nights with variable days to be worked. This role works under the supervision of RNs and physicians, assisting in direct patient care, documentation, and maintaining a safe clinical environment. Perfect for someone seeking a dynamic role with flexible scheduling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the intake and admission of emergency patients
  • Collect and document vital signs, notify RN of abnormal readings
  • Support the care team with procedures, transport, and patient mobility
  • Collect specimens and assist with basic clinical tasks
  • Maintain clean treatment areas and prepare rooms between patients
  • Enter and manage information in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Demonstrate professionalism and service excellence with patients, families, and staff

Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Idaho CNA license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • EMT license or relevant experience in emergency care; must enroll in EMT or nursing program within one year of hire
  • IV certification within 3 months of hire
  • Completion of basic arrhythmia course within one year of hire
  • Strong communication, organization, and computer skills


Preferred:

  • One year of experience in an acute hospital or EMS setting
  • Advanced EMT license
  • Enrollment in or completion of a nursing program
