About the Department
Position Duties
Animal Bite Report investigations to comply with local and state codes. Provide public education for rabies disease control and prevention. Perform routine investigations of animal bites, including confinement and release of animals. Prepare animal specimens for sampling and provide follow-up of cases. Perform other routine environmental investigations, including being on a rotating on-call schedule. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Valid driver’s license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification); additional license if required by law for position or assigned department.
- Pass pre-employment criminal background check, fingerprint, and DMV checks.
- Subject to recall/rotational on-call 24-hours a day, seven days a week as assigned. May be required to work during public health/County emergencies 24/7; and if so, may be assigned to a different location or asked to serve in a different capacity.
- May be required to work in an outdoor environment during varying types of weather (hot or cold).
- Must obtain and maintain active rabies vaccination status (pre-exposure series) when required for job-related duties.
