Overview:

Provide a Full range of administrative support to the public safety department including police services. Manage Communication Specialist and operators including training for telecommunicator certifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the public safety department 
  • Assist with public and employee relation intitatives
  • Submits monthly crime reports and statistics to the FBI through the National Incident Based Report System (NIBRS.)
  • Serves as the Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC), acting as liasion between the SBI's Division of Criminal Information (DCI) and the Company Police Department; adds and deletes users from DCI, CAD and other specialized computer systems used in law enforcement work, coordinates audits of system. 
  • Handles accounting and budgetary functions for the department including receiving all invoices and approving for payment; purchasing operating supplies and materials in consultation with leasdership as needed 
  • Serves as the CJIS compliance officer and interfaces with CJIS regarding officer training, certification and validation of records and audits. 
  • Manage the systems communications center and telecommunications staff dispatching and monitoring calls; schedules personnel and serves as a telecommunicator when needed. 
Qualifications:

High school graduate; associate degree preferred in related field: office management, criminal justice, business administration, public administration; at least five years’ related experiences. Prefer public safety, law enforcement or administrative support related experience. Significant experience may be accepted in lieu of education or formal training.

 

Requires the ability to successfully pass a thorough criminal background check; obtain DCI, Notary Public, Telecommunicator and access control certifications within 6 months of hire.
