QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in education, communications, public relations, marketing, or other related fields; master’s degree preferred
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of administrative or supervisory experience
  3. Experience working collaboratively with community organizations and other stakeholder groups
  4. Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and public speaking
  5. Thorough knowledge of communication best practices, media relations, and public relations functions; and
  6. Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skill

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 250 days

 

SALARY:

(EL-1)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide leadership, coordination, and evaluation of communication, community programs, and community engagement
  2. Serve as the district spokesperson and coordinate media coverage.
  3. Collaborate with the superintendent and chief of staff to develop and execute internal and external communications.
  4. Coordinate emergency and crisis communications with district and campus leadership.
  5. Support campus personnel in publicizing and promoting performances, exhibitions, displays, or special programs.
  6. Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive strategic communication and marketing plan aligned with district goals.
  7. Oversee the creation, design, and editing of district publications, digital content, and multimedia materials, including websites, videos, social media, presentations, and newsletters.
  8. Lead efforts to ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across all communication channels.
  9. Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
  10. Attend Board of Trustees meetings and oversee the audio/visual and live-streaming functions of district events.
  11. Recruit, train, and supervise department staff, providing leadership in professional growth and performance management.
  12. Represent the district on community committees and at public events as required.
  13. Develop and implement professional learning opportunities to enhance department effectiveness.
  14. Review and recommend appropriate policies, administrative regulations, and administrative practices for the areas supervised.
  15. Administer department budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost effectiveness.
  16. Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
  17. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Frequent districtwide and occasional overnight travel. Frequent outdoor exposure.
