What to Expect?

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to timelines and budgets.  The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement and optimizing the production processes within our manufacturing facility.  This position will oversee and direct activities for the production supervisors, neutralization, and maintenance departments on the weekend shift.  The Production Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient production of chemical products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.  A pillar in our production team, the Production Manager must have excellent leadership qualities, be organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

On a daily basis our Production Manager:

  • Ensure all production associates adhere to all health and safety policies and wear the appropriate PPE required in each department.

  • Manages the intricacies of daily workflow and scheduling, placing a deliberate emphasis on the pillars of safety, quality assurance, and the streamlined efficiency of operational processes.

  • Identify areas where we can work more efficiently. Team up with the Senior Production Manager and CI Engineer to make changes to our processes that will improve bottlenecks, flow, and efficiencies.

  • Ensure that all chemicals being produced and packaged are safely ran and that only compatible chemicals are being produced at the same time.

  • Perform annual performance evaluations that are both timely and constructive.

  • Responsible for disciplines, coaching, and terminations of any production associate in accordance with company policies.

  • Collaborates with production supervisors, production maintenance, and Sr production manager to identify and develop needs and requirements for materials, products, and/or acceptable substitutions.

  • Verify that each process is being documented per area and product to include but not limited to: machine set up, fill levels, closure procedures, weights and measures, pallet stacking guised, lot coding, ect.

  • Consistently engage in assessments with the Senior Production Manager to analyze the dynamic interplay between demand vs. capacity, formulating insightful recommendations for strategic capital equipment acquisitions.

  • Confirm daily start up and safety briefings are being conducted and that weekly safety meetings are being performed and documented appropriately and turned into administration coordinator.

  • Evaluate daily and weekly all inventory discrepancies and adjustments, ensure daily reconciliations are being performed by department supervisors.

  • Discuss upcoming weeks schedule with staff at regularly scheduled production meetings.

  • Review pending production orders with customer service and purchasing department as needed to discuss open orders and confirmed required shipment dates.

  • Monitor and review performance of staff and leadership and provide feedback as needed.

  • Review, develop, and establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.

  • Perform any other duties, as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Prior management/leadership experience, in a production setting preferred.

  • Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing company policy

  • Extremely well organized with an ability to prioritize work with a keen eye for detail.

  • Understanding of advanced industrial math skills and proficient with MS Office suite and AS400 (J.D. Edwards).

  • Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to delegate with empathy and compassion toward other employees.
