Pay Range: $16.12 - $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience

About the Role:
As a Phlebotomist at Quincy Medical Group, you will be a vital part of our laboratory team, collecting and processing specimens for analysis. This role requires precision, professionalism, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Whether performing venipunctures, finger-sticks, or other specimen collections, your expertise ensures the accuracy and quality of diagnostic results. You’ll also contribute to lab operations, including receptionist coverage and performing simple lab tests.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner and verify their identity.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, swabs, etc.) with accuracy and minimal discomfort, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Perform routine venipunctures, finger-sticks, and specimen labeling with attention to detail.
- Enter collection details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and ensure proper documentation.
- Collect signed ABN forms as needed.
- Perform simple lab tests, such as bleeding time evaluations.
- Provide coverage for lab reception and assist in transcription of patient orders into the computer system.
- Participate in ongoing training, in-services, and department meetings to stay updated on best practices.
- Travel to local nursing homes for specimen collection when necessary.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program and at least two years of experience preferred.
- CPR certification required (available upon hire).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make patients feel at ease during specimen collection.
- Proficiency in handling and labeling specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of lab safety protocols and experience working with blood-borne pathogens is preferred.
