Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.


We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager - IFC Center to join our Films Group team based in our New York, NY office.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Coordinate activities of theater staff to ensure efficient operation, promote patronage of theatre and provide a positive guest experience. 
  • Respond to customer queries and complaints in person and via phone. 
  • Maintain regular personal presence in the lobby and throughout the facility to engage with customers and staff to identify, track and resolve urgent issues. 
  • Ensure all staff keep primary focus on high level of customer satisfaction through consistently excellent service. 
  • Monitor staff adherence to IFC Center and AMC Networks values and policies, and, in coordination with AMC Networks HR Dept., ensure proper training of all staff members. 
  • Update theater staff on new programs, initiatives, policies and external issues that may impact operations. 
  • Recruit, train, manage, motivate and evaluate floor staff and assistant managers. 
  • Coordinate staff scheduling. 
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash and inventory control and manage staff’s daily sales activities. 
  • Prepare and disseminate theater schedules. 
  • Responsible for cleanliness and functionality of physical plant – both on a daily basis as well as planning long-term maintenance of building integrity and services. 
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety to ensure satisfaction of company’s legal, security and compliance expectations in terms of operational standards. 
  • Maintain inventory systems for goods for sale as well as for maintenance products and other consumables required to operate business. 
  • Maintain proper presence for marketing campaigns and materials on site. 
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Manage relationships with vendors, neighboring retailers and other third-parties. 


QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred) 

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience 
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment. 
  • Ability to personally represent the company positively, impressively and enthusiastically while engaging with patrons is vital. 
  • Food Service and Fire Safety certification will be required within 30 days of job commencement. 

The base compensation for this position is $19-20 an hour commensurate with experience.
