The Program Director coordinates and directs the program use of YMCA Camp MacLean with primary focus on group services while also supporting the resident camp director role. Ensure the safety and welfare of all campers and carry out the mission of YMCA Camp MacLean. The Program Director also fosters positive relationships with schools, groups, and community partners to enhance participation, and provides leadership in creating engaging, inclusive, and mission-driven program experiences.
Salary for this position is $45,000 to $47,000 per year with full-time benefits and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Follow, uphold and support Y procedures, Y policies and positive public relations at all times.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, management, growth and evaluation of all assigned camp programs.
- Serve as resident host to facilitate a quality experience for all campers, including assigned groups (Includes weekends & nights). This position is required to reside on camp property.
- Responsible for overseeing adventure/challenge/high ropes activities within programs.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising part-time and/or seasonal staff that are needed to facilitate camp programs within assigned departments.
- Work closely with the Food Service Manager and property manager to coordinate food service and facility needs of campers & guests.
- Act as a team member, working closely with other staff including the executive director on all interrelated matters.
- Responsible for a budget, achieving revenue goals, and maintain control of expenses.
- Responsible for the marketing of all assigned programs. This includes preparation and dissemination of camp literature as well as communicating in person, on the phone and via social media to potential schools, scout organizations, churches, families etc.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate files and records.
- Responsible for maintaining the proper use of all camp equipment.
- Work with the Director of Camp Programming in conjunction with the Camp Executive Director to learn all facets of camp programming and operations beyond assigned programs. Serve as one of two program/operations directors responsible for general camp operation.

Specific Functions:
- Sr. manager of Group Services; sets standards and best practices with Director of Camp Programming
- Bookings, inquiries, contracts, deposits
- Outdoor education program instructor hiring, scheduling and supervising
- Group preparation & communication with other full-time staff members
- Skyway inspection, maintenance and training duties
- Assist with summer resident camp staff training and/or other summer duties as assigned
- Assist with social media content
- Lifeguard Certification highly recommended
- On-site camp residency required
Minimum/Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree plus previous YMCA resident camp & group service leadership experience. Must have experience in leading seasonal camp staff. Previous training/experience in high ropes courses and adventure/challenge programs preferred. Lifeguard certification highly recommended. Must be energetic person committed to the YMCA mission. Willing to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends. This position requires excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
