What You’ll Do:
- Data Transformation Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain scalable transformation pipelines using SQL, Python, and modern data orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow) to shape raw data into structured, analytics-ready models.
- Data Modeling: Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define and implement target data models that meet analytical and reporting needs, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and performance.
- Quality Assurance: Implement testing frameworks (e.g., data validation, unit tests) to ensure the reliability, integrity, and correctness of transformed data.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize SQL queries, transformations, and data models for efficiency and scalability within the data platform.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation of data models, transformation logic, and pipeline processes to support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business units, data analysts, and leadership to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver impactful data solutions.
- Tooling & Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and tools, advocating for best practices in data transformation, version control (e.g., Git), and analytics engineering workflows.
- Monitoring & Support: Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with software engineers managing the data platform, ensuring seamless data flow from ingestion to analytics.
What You Bring:
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related role, with a strong focus on data transformation and modeling.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming large datasets.
- Experience with data transformation tools like dbt (data build tool) or similar.
- Familiarity with Python or another scripting language for pipeline development.
- Knowledge of data orchestration platforms (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect).
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Proficiency in data warehousing techniques (star schema, data vault 2.0)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate business needs into technical data models and transformation workflows.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on data quality, testing, and documentation to ensure trustworthy outputs.
- Problem-Solving: Comfortable troubleshooting complex data issues and optimizing performance.
