Our major software client is seeking a UX Designer for a 2 month freelance role offering 40 hours/week. This role is fully remote, requiring PST hours. For consideration, candidates must include both a resume + portfolio with password when applying.


Team: The Digital Experience and Customer Empowerment (DXC) organization creates best-in-class, self-service experiences for customers to evaluate, try, and buy our products; manage their accounts, profiles, and relationships; use and deepen their mastery of our products over time. DXC is also responsible for creating self-service tools to automate internal processes.


The XD team within DXC includes interaction and user experience design, research, service design, and content strategy.


Summary: Reporting to the Experience Design Manager for Buying Experiences, the Senior User Experience Designer will collaborate to create best-in-class, cohesive and scalable transactional experiences across Autodesk customer touchpoints. You will partner with other XD members on our team and cross-functional stakeholders to establish and deliver on ambitious goals to bring measurable benefits to customers, as well as contributing to corporate and divisional priorities. This role requires strategic and critical thinking, and a mindful approach to organization, collaboration, and execution on behalf of the customer.


Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and deliver improvements and new features for the Buy experience across Autodesk domains
  • Ensure the transactional experience across Autodesk domains meets industry best practices and accessibility requirements


  • - Partner closely with product management, engineering and other cross-functional stakeholders in exploring, planning, verifying, and building products
  • Develop artifacts (wireframes, prototypes, conceptual diagrams, task flows, technical documents, storyboards, presentations, etc.) at various levels of fidelity that concisely convey a vision from current experiences to proposed solutions to gain strategic alignment and encourage innovation within and across the organization
  • Plan and conduct customer research activities - from interviews to usability testing - throughout the project lifecycle, including collaborative sessions with customers and development partners to validate designs and make iterative improvements
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of customer experience tools and processes, and scalable experience design standards
  • Use data insights from analytics and customer interactions to help inform business and design decisions


  • - Plan and facilitate design-thinking exercises to break through organizational silos and collaborate on solving complex design challenges
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by engaging with designers throughout the company and beyond to share best practices and promote collaboration
  • Contribute to efforts to create scalable experience design standards and improve design processes


Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of related professional years designing consumer-facing responsive products for mobile, web and desktop (with portfolio demonstrating relevant work)
  • 2+ years designing e-commerce or transactional experiences


  • - Experience designing site structure, information architecture and site taxonomy
  • Experience collaborating and leading cross-functional teams in problem definition and analysis, understanding customer workflows, creating prototypes and designs that solve customer problems
  • Ability to visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations, highly technical documents and diagrams
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present designs to a wide range of audiences, including software development, quality assurance, learning content development, marketing, sales, and executive level stakeholders
  • Up-to-date expertise in human-centered design best practices
  • Experience with designing and conducting customer research using various qualitative and quantitative methods including interviews, contextual inquiry, user testing and A/B testing
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas, and large amounts of data and viewpoints


Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS or graduate degree in HCI, interaction design, new media design, or equivalent experience


  • - Experience with agile software design methods
  • Expertise in designing and implementing multi-channel experiences


  • - Experience with user experience design for desktop software
  • Knowledge of Autodesk products
