This candidate is responsible for driving the certification and deployment of data devices on the Southern Linc network. This person will be part of a team that is recognized as technical experts and will act as a key interface between engineering teams, internal business stakeholders, and external vendors. This role ensures that device certification aligns with business needs, regulatory requirements, and technical standards, supporting the successful introduction and lifecycle management of M2M, IoT, and mobile computing devices.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect and document business requirements, technical requirements, test strategies, and process flows in relation to data devices.
- Participate and support in device testing and certification, ensuring compliance with Southern Linc network and industry standards.
- Effectively articulate business concepts, technical issues, and product statuses to vendors, stakeholders, and executives.
- Ability to understand industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to M2M, IoT, and wireless devices.
- Support continuous improvement of device certification processes and related documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, research and development, sales, and customer support, to align device certification with organizational goals.
- Ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards prior to deployment.
- Identify opportunities for new product development and enhancements based on stakeholder feedback and market trends.
- Interface with vendors which provide products to Southern Linc related to M2M, IoT, and other data services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in product development, testing, or certification of wireless or IoT devices.
- Experience with M2M, IoT, or mobile computing devices preferred.
- Strong technical foundation in device testing, certification, and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with vendors, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as 3GPP, GSMA, or PTCRB is desirable.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Aptitude for understanding how wireless technology products and solutions can be applied towards a customer base.
- Able to effectively articulate technical issues and concepts to vendors, leaders, and executives with the ability to influence decisions.
