The following supplemental contract positions are open for the 2025-2026 school year at Malabar Intermediate, Mansfield Spanish Immersion, Springmill STEM, Mansfield Middle School and Mansfield Senior High School. The successful candidate(s) will be required to complete all pre-employment procedures if not a current employee of the Mansfield City Schools. Supplementals in this posting are compensated at 4% of the teacher base salary per the negotiated agreement.
Academic Challenge/Quiz Bowl Advisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as the contact for the building Academic Challenge or Quiz Bowl team including:
Mid-Ohio ESC Academic Challenge for grades 4, 5, 6
NCOECS Quiz Bowl for grades 7 - 8
NCOECS Quiz Bowl for grades 9-12
OCC Academic Challenge for grades 9-12 (JV & Varsity)
Complete/Organize all Academic Challenge team tasks for coaches as outlined by the sponsoring organization
Remain in contact with the sponsoring organization to receive communications regarding all Academic Challenge and/or Quiz Bowl events
Determine readers for each event
Determine student participants
Register team with the sponsoring organization
Coach and guide student participants though weekly coaching sessions
Provide study materials to student participants
Prepare students to compete in events
Communicate event information including dates, times, rules, and regulations to the district, school, student, and families
Attend all Academic Challenge and/Or Quiz Bowl events as a coach
Organize additional volunteers as needed
Coordinate school transportation for students if needed
Be willing to host an event or events for the region
Promote student participants through the district’s social media, webpage, and newsletters
