Position Summary

The ideal candidate will provide mid-level training development and instructional support for Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) programs at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. Lead the development of comprehensive training materials, curriculum, and lesson plans using MIL-PRF-29612B standards for critical Navy mine countermeasure systems including Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs). Support training delivery for Operational Test (OT) and Cadre training courses, Training Working Group (TWG) meetings, and fleet training initiatives throughout the complete UMS lifecycle.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and update training course materials using MIL-PRF-29612B standards, including Curriculum Outlines, Trainee Guides with diagram sheets and color photos, and Cadre Training Lesson Plans.
  • Conduct Operational Test (OT) and initial Cadre training courses as an instructor, accommodating target class sizes of 12 students at contractor facilities or test sites as determined by Government requirements.
  • Provide instructional services at various locations to ensure compatibility with platform training programs; prepare and distribute Trainee Critique sheets after each training event to assess effectiveness.
  • Schedule and support Training In-Process Reviews (IPRs) to assess progress of training product completion; prepare IPR agendas and comprehensive minutes that serve as official Government guidance for training content and documentation style.
  • Prepare agendas, presentations, and minutes for Training Working Group (TWG) meetings and other ILS meetings; document assigned action items and attendees in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Support Post-Mission Analysis (PMA) and Mine Warfare and Environmental Decision Aids Library (MEDAL) training prior to Operational Training; conduct mission planning training using MEDAL and PMA stations.
  • Review, update, and maintain training materials, plans, curriculum, and program documents to ensure current technical accuracy and alignment with system modifications and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Provide fleet training support for MCM USV-MH systems, including coordination with fleet personnel to deliver training that supports operational readiness and system deployment.
  • Support general ILS training requirements, including development of training schedules, coordination of training resources, and integration of training materials into the complete logistics support framework.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or related Training Systems discipline
  • 7+ years of professional experience in curriculum development
  • Knowledge of MIL-PRF-29612B standards for training data products (Curriculum Outlines, Trainee Guides, Lesson Plans)
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training courses for military or defense systems
  • Experience with instructional design principles, adult learning methodologies, and training needs assessment
  • Knowledge of Unmanned Maritime Systems, mine countermeasures, or naval systems training (preferred)
  • Familiarity with MEDAL (Mine Warfare and Environmental Decision Aids Library) and PMA (Post-Mission Analysis) tools and processes
  • Experience supporting Training Working Groups (TWG), In-Process Reviews (IPR), and ILS meetings
  • Ability to conduct training for classes up to 12 students in classroom and field environments
  • SECRET security clearance
  • U.S. citizen
