Purpose of Position:

Provide post-crisis response services, conduct mental health and/or substance use assessments, and develop treatment plans in partnership with Village Health Services for employees of NSHC Village Health Services Department.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide and document comprehensive and individual substance use and mental health assessments and treatment plans identifying client problems and needs with appropriate goals and objectives to achieve desirable outcomes 
  • Provide appropriate interventions to meet the client’s/family’s physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual and safety needs, and evaluate client’s progress 
  • Travel extensively throughout the Bering Strait Region to provide substance use and mental health services to our region’s Community Health Aides. 
  • Provide individual and group debrief sessions on-site or via video teleconference for Community Health Aides and other first responders after a crisis or traumatic event.  
  • Provide behavioral health trainings to Village Health Services staff based upon need
  • Arrange clinical services, make referrals to appropriate providers, assist in treatment compliance, and coordinate with human service agencies to support client needs
  • Maintain quality and efficiency standards; participate in activities that promote professional growth and self-development; and attend pertinent in-services, departmental, and other meetings
  • Provide on-call services after hours on a rotational basis with other qualified providers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Must be eligible for LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LMFT (Licensed Marital and Family Therapist) or equivalent state license in Alaska within two years of hire

 

 

Physical Requirements:
