The Clinical Resource Program provides a centralized model of service delivery and coordination in the areas of Patient Flow, Staffing and Scheduling, and Clinical Resource Management. The program is accountable for the delivery of roles, resources and structures required to achieve clinical efficiencies across Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS). The Scheduling Operations Centre (SOC) is responsible for the delivery of staff scheduling services, directly supporting clinical operations across various HHS sites and programs.
The Workforce Operations Planner / Pod Lead is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, performance management, and activities of the WFM Schedulers within the Scheduling Operations Centre (SOC) to ensure consistent scheduling practices across all Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) sites, all union groups, and all employee roles supported by the SOC. The role provides expert consultation and guidance related to staff scheduling across HHS, including creation and maintenance of unit scheduling guidelines, creation of master schedules aligned to business needs and objectives of supported units, and providing direct support to leaders with scheduling data for optimization opportunities. The Workforce Operations Planner / Pod Lead is an escalation point for resolving scheduling issues raised by WFM Schedulers or Unit Managers, and collaborates with the Workforce Scheduling Department Manager(s) and other corporate services to resolve scheduling issues. The position provides on-call scheduling support, in the absence of the Workforce Scheduling Department Manager.
The Workforce Operations Planner / Pod Lead coordinates the delivery of scheduling operations centre (SOC) services in a 7 day per week service environment. On-call support is required in the absence of the Manager – Workforce Scheduling Department.

- Undergraduate degree in relevant field (preferred), or 2 year College diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources.
- 3 years required experience in Scheduling.
- 3 years required supervisory/leadership experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
- 1 year experience with automated scheduling software (preferred)
- Knowledge of policies pertaining to staffing, scheduling, time and labour.
- Demonstrated detailed knowledge of union Collective Agreements and how they apply to scheduling of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions in accordance with policies, legislated requirements and collective agreements and in accordance with HHS core values.
- Project Management skills.

- Highly developed communication and presentation skills; verbal, written.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft products (MS365/Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), including creation, maintenance and use of complex documents.
