Position Overview

Our Geosciences team is looking for a Geophysics summer student to work in our Calgary office for a 4-month term. We welcome graduate students with relevant work experience who are returning to school in the Fall, to submit their cover letter and resume.

Key Responsibilities

Working alongside a team of professional geoscientists and engineers within one of our two Asset Divisions, specific responsibilities and learnings will include:

  • Data loading, interpretation, and visualization of 2D and 3D seismic data

  • Well tie and synthetic seismogram generation to link seismic data with well logs

  • Structure and fault mapping, and time to depth conversion

  • Utilizing software’s such as but not limited to GeoScout, Seisware and GeoSyn

  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Present to team members, as well as management

Primary Qualifications

  • Students in the process of obtaining an undergraduate or graduate degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Science, or Geological Engineering.

  • Previous experience in the energy industry would be an asset but is not required. Specific qualifications include:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a team environment, and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter and motivated to initiate projects and work towards innovative solutions

  • A genuine interest in applying geophysics to oil and gas exploration and development
