Description

 Simplex Inc is a leading provider of Load Banks and Fuel Tank Systems, committed to excellence and innovation. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our dynamic finance and accounting team.  


Duties:   

  • Manage customer invoicing processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing 
  • Work closely with the Sales and Credit teams to ensure accuracy of the daily invoicing 
  • Assist Credit Team in credit collections processes, as necessary 
  • Reconcile various subsidiary ledgers (A/R, Inventory, A/P, FA, etc.) with the general ledger 
  • Assist with general ledger entries and reconciliations related to credit card transactions 
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes 
  • Assist with financial statements and reports for management 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities 
  • Gain proficiency in sales tax laws for various states as it relates to customer orders 
  • Assist with sales tax reconciliations through Avalara compliance platform 
  • Collaborate and work with internal departments to be able to assist with other areas of the financial process related to accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, etc. 

Accounting Department Responsibilities: 

  • Organize, analyze, and maintain financial records in compliance with internal policies and external regulations 
  • Manage data accuracy and integrity across accounting systems 
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations and reporting 
  • Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, credit card transactions, and service reports 
  • Enter and manage data in proprietary software with a high degree of accuracy 
  • Maintain consistent workflow and ensure timely adherence to internal deadlines 
  • Collaborate across departments including Sales, Operations, Service, and Production 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education and experience 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably construction and/or manufacturing companies 
  • Proficient in ERP and/or accounting systems.  Experience with Epicor a plus but not necessary 
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently 
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and proprietary software 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines 
  • Experienced in preparing financial documentation and reports 
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills 
  • Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
