Summary:
The Accounting Intern will be involved in any areas within the General Accounting department based on the current needs of each team. There will be opportunities to learn about the foundation of branch operations through the back-end accounting procedures and the ability to participate in processes that generate financial data that gets booked monthly to branch P&L’s.
Skills Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field
- 3.0+ GPA
- Proficient in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Time Management
- Detail oriented, Self-Starter
- Analytical thinker
Duties and Responsibilities: may include, but are not limited to:
General Accounting:
- Gross Profit Reconciliation review
- Financial Review of Fixed Entries
- Assist in designated month-end tasks
- Testing different approaches to revamp processes – direction to be given by Manager
- Reporting cleanup such as archiving and organizing old files
- Special projects as needed
Customer and Vendor Rebates, Invoice Verification:
- Aid in reviewing programs and ensure appropriate documentation has been received
- Building reconciliations and researching discrepancies between accrual and credit received
- Scanning and indexing programs into OnBase
- Assist with month end tasks if necessary
- Audit rebate tables
- Special projects as needed
