Oncology Veterinary Technician

Seeking a compassionate, skilled, upbeat Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our expanding Oncology team.

Who are we looking for?
Please have a positive personality, be capable of effective communication, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, multi-task like a pro, and have a well-rounded skill set and solid knowledge base. Please enjoy developing relationships with clients and their pets. Oncology experience is preferred, but not required. Must have experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting our Oncologist and other team members
• Restraining animals safely using stress-free handling techniques
• Working collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
• Successfully use all in house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
• Safely and effectively take digital radiographs
• Be able to calculate drug dosages
• Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
• Proficiency with venous catheterization
• Possess or acquire knowledge of chemotherapy medications and how to deliver them
• Possess or acquire knowledge chemotherapy protocols
• Effectively care for and communicate with clients
